Literacy- Popcorn Words- I can’t stress to you enough the importance of your child practicing these words nightly! Must know all of the popcorn words required for kdg!!!! Long vowels- a,e,I,o,u, bossy e Blending CVC words- cat, bug, sat, dog *Bring book of bags back each day. Writer’s Workshop homework, comprehension passages.
Reading & Writing kinders are now taking AR tests. If your child has their library book in their book bag then they are taking AR tests. They have a goal to meet each month so it is very important that they read this book to you. They have to be able to read and answer questions on their AR test. We do not read them to them. If they DO NOT meet their goal then they will not participate in the monthly celebrations!

Social Studies- *Work on knowing your street address (Number and street name), city (Columbus), county (Muscogee), state (Georgia), nation (U.S.A), and continent (North Am.), goods (goods are things that are made or grown on farms or in factories) /services (a service is work that someone does for someone else), money for income ( Explain that people earn income by working), Needs (a need is something a person must have in order to live)/wants (a want is something people, would like to have, but do not need it in order to live) holidays and celebrations (Christmas, Columbus Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, New Year’s Day, Presidents Day (George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and the current president), Thanksgiving Day, and Veterans Day)

addition: Ex: I have 5 marbles and my friend has 3. How many in all? 6, 7, 8? (5 + 3 = ?) subtraction: Ex: I have 8 marbles and I give my friend 3. How many do I have left? 4, 5, 6? (8 - 3 = ?)
